Halloween had to be more special then usual this year. My kids are so deserving of being spoiled. We didn’t know what this holiday would hold- if they would be able to go trick or treating so we threw a party.
From bat balloons to a Halloween charcuterie board and punch filled with ice cubed eyeballs and hands. We started the party making all the sweets: caramel apples, butter butter ghosts, chocolate pretzel rods and graveyard cookies.
We decorated the table with pumpkin and bat plates in pink and black theme. I needed to incorporate my son and daughters. My daughter doesn’t like anything scary, so throwing some pink into the mix was her style. She loves princesses and fairytales and my son loves superhero’s and all things scary. When your a mom you have to make everyone happy.
The charcuterie board was just the hit of the party. The kids eyes lit up when they saw me bring it out. I mean come on— gummy teeth— how cool is that? And they didn’t mind eating them. I passed on the teeth, but the cookies were so good.
We had Alexa playing Halloween songs on repeat in the background and we danced around the kitchen. In these moments, you forget all that is going on and you cherish the time together. Later the kids crashed from a sugar high and I had I cleaned up while eating some candy. 🤣
