Just after Christmas, Target rolled out with their paper mache mailbox for Valentine’s Day. I quickly scooped up three of them in tan. They also had pink and red available. I thought it would work two-fold; as the kids holder for their gifts and a centerpiece for their Valentines Day table so they could paint it and get creative.
While I always add candy into the kids gifts, I make it a staple to incorporate pajamas. My kids are huge on matching pajamas. Of course, I had to get them heart pajamas for Valentine’s Day. My daughters favorite colors are pink and my sons is red, so naturally the girls received pink heart pajamas and my son received red pajamas.
I also included body wash, lotion and bath bombs. I mean what is more perfect then a heart bath bomb? My kids just love bath bombs, I mean who wouldn’t? These bath products smell so good too!
Next up, only the best chocolates from Mrs. Prindables. I received all of their favorites starting with their caramel chocolate apples. What is better then chocolate apples you may ask? Ones that come in an adorable box with a lid. Each side of the box comes with a festive critter for the holiday and is stuffed with crinkly paper. And it gets better! Pretzel logs drizzled with caramel and chocolate and topped with sweet pink hearts. Yes, I did taste them before I gifted them and they are incredible. I didn’t just eat one. You will truly thank me for these! Mrs. Prindables also has adorable gift baskets for Valentine Day that are beautifully wrapped and tied with a bow. The kids are going to go crazy in love with them for sure.
I also had a very talented friend of mine that I have know since high school design my Valentine’s Day cookies for me. I asked Dani for heart shaped cookies and envelopes with my kids names on them. Her attention to detail and skills are incredible. The cookies were absolute perfection and they taste so good too. I used the cookies in each of my kids mailboxes as a tag. I also gave them each a heart cookie as well. Dani will for sure be my go to for all cookies and parties to come. She is amazing!
As for added fillers to the mailboxes, I included mini m&ms, gummy heart candy and cotton candy. For my youngest, I also included some new utensils for her, in pink of course, and Valentine’s Day themed books. You can also substitute the candy for Valentine’s Day themed pencils and add some paper envelopes and cards for them to design. I like to add “filler” with a purpose instead of items that I will throw away in a weeks time. I want the kids to have use out of it and enjoy it for months to come. Think about what your kids are in need of and how it can be incorporated into the theme. Most important- have fun with it.
