They say you only get to be a kid once, but I kind of disagree. Now that I have children of my own, I get to relive those childhood experiences through the eye of my kids. I would classify myself as a pretty strict mom, but over the course of the last year I have lightened up (a lot). The activities and vacations we were saving for when the kids were older, we planned for this year. Kids definitely need boundaries, but they also need to just be kids because they have the rest of their life for the difficult stuff.
My son and daughter both were in distance learning last school year for kindergarten and pre-school. This year, they will be going into school for the first time for first grade and pre-k4. It will be a very difficult transition for them. To be honest, I think it will be more difficult on me. My husband took the week off so we could take them on day trips as their last send off before school starting.
For our first adventure, we took them to Sugar Factory. I didn’t tell them where we were going until we walked right up to the restaurant. Can you imagine their eyes when they saw huge lollipops, a large then life size rubber ducky and a candy shop? Sugar Factory is known for their extravagant and over the top desserts. Boy did they deliver! Sugar Factory gave us a one-of-a-kind experience that my family and I will never forget. The smiles on my kids faces were just priceless. We for sure left in a sugar coma.
MENU
Lets just say, come with your appetite. Sugar Factory does not skimp on any of the entrees that are served. The menu includes alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, appetizers, salads, sandwiches, monster burgers, pasta, entrees, brunch, milkshakes, dessert, coffee and espresso. I could literally go on and on. Their are options for everyone.
Sugar Factory is definitely known for their drinks and desserts, but they also have extra large portions when it comes to burgers and sandwiches. They also are serving breakfast now as well. I got a glimpse of their breakfast menu and it looks just as delicious as the lunch we were lucky enough to have.
Desserts
I am going to start out of order and for good reason. The music in the restaurant was at a very soft level for the entire duration of our meal. Upon completion of our lunch, the music volume increased significantly and the lights went out. I had no idea what was happening. Soon enough I saw the wait staff approaching our table with a huge dessert. The came out singing baby shark; singing and dancing to the entire song. Let me tell you, it was just an absolutely over-the-top amazing experience. They then put the dessert down at our table, finished the song and left us to the King Kong dessert bowl.
The world famous Sugar Factory King Kong Sundae is $99 and serves 12 people. It includes 24 scoops of ice cream covered with dark chocolate, caramel, and strawberry sauces, caramelized banana, marshmallows, chocolate chip cookie chunks, a glazed donut, a red velvet cupcake, white chocolate strawberry curls, gummy bears, Reeses Pieces, Oreo cookie crumbles, rainbow and chocolate sprinkles, graham cracker crumbles, waffle cones dipped in chocolate, unicorn pops, candy necklaces and topped off with whipped cream, gummy cherries and sparklers!
Sugar Factory also has insane milkshakes! My bucket list includes their Nutella Banana Milkshake and their Campfire Spiked S’mores Milkshake. I am all about presentation and their milkshakes are just over the top. They are ah-mazing.
Cocktails
One of the most appealing items on Sugar Factory’s menu are their goblets. The goblet is a 64 ounce size drink that can be alcoholic or non-alcoholic. Drinks range from about $14 to $32. The more expensive drinks are really mean to be shared and come in a giant goblet that you get to take home as a souvenir. I asked our waitress, Amanda the secret to all of the “smoke” coming out of the drink. She said that their is dry ice sitting at the bottom of the glass, which delivers a smoking effect as it encounters the ice when the server pours the drink.
Sugar Factory offers over 14 Goblet size drinks. We had the opportunity to taste three of their drinks: Watermelon Patch, made with fresh watermelon, fresh lemon, and citrus soda—topped with a mound of Sour Patch Watermelons and watermelon slices along the rim; Ocean Blue, equipped with sharks swimming in a Hpnotiq cocktail; Fuzzy Peach Penguin Mango made with peach and mango puree with sparkling citrus soda. Finished with gummy fruit slices and gummy peach penguins. Strawberry Hustle made with a one of a kind mix of strawberry seltzer, fresh watermelon juice and lemonade. Topped with strawberry gummies, watermelon fruit slices and sour peach hearts.
Food
We started with the Sugar Factory Rainbow Sliders. It is their classic sliders served on colorful buns with American cheese, pickles, crispy onions, and their signature sauce accompanied by a complimentary duck to take home. We also had their Sampler Platter, which includes crispy chicken fingers, buffalo wings, onion rings and three classic mini burgers served with dipping sauces.
For our main entrees, we chose the Ginger Sesame Chicken Salad and The Big Cheesy Burger. The Big Cheesy Burger is an 8oz Black Angus beef burger, topped with creamy mac and cheese, sliced tomato, shredded romaine, pickles, American cheese, applewood bacon and crispy onions served with BBQ sauce on a toasted brioche bun. The Ginger Sesame Chicken Salad has shredded cabbage, julienned carrots, water chestnuts, green onions, basil, toasted sesame seeds, roasted peanuts, cilantro, mandarin orange, and crispy wontons with ginger sesame dressing.
Sugar Factory is the ultimate experience for kids and adults alike. Sugar Factory has something for everyone and is the perfect sweet escape. Their creative menu truly is all it is made up to be. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience and are already talking about another visit.
