One of the highlights of our Christmas season is the arrival of The Elf on The Shelf. The first day of the elves arrival is always accompanied with a breakfast.
Our elf on the shelf experience started about 9 years ago before I even had kids. My husband and I would take turns putting the elf in different places of the house, leaving notes and having him do funny things. It started our mornings off in such a nice way. Then a few years later, our son arrived and we continued the tradition with him even before he could understand what the elf was meant for.
We acquired a new elf for each child we have, we not have three elves: Buddy, Peppa and Minnie. I love the traditional red elf but I know my daughters would love to have a pink one.
The elf experienced started with just placing them in different places of the house and sometimes having them get into mischief. Now that my son and daughter are older, we are really being put to the test with what the elves do. My son has an impeccable memory and we can’t have the elf in the same location or partaking in the same tricks from last year. Thankfully, I found. Shop the Happy Box Co. They offer elf kits: basic and deluxe for 25 days of Christmas. Our kit this year included Santa surveillance, an elf door, reindeer food, etc. It takes the guess work out of what you need to do each day because everything is packaged in plastic sleeves with corresponding numbers to the days in December. For busy parents (all of us) this is for you.
Our elves arrived this year in style. We used Shop the Happy Box Co. Arrival envelopes and put holes in the packages making it look like the leaves were sent air mail and used magic to get themselves out. For the past two years, the elves make my kids a special breakfast. This year was no exception and the elves put together elf on the shelf cereal, snowflake marshmallows and elf on the shelf custom cookies.
My son laughed and said wow, these elves are just like you mom. They know how to throw a party and create one just like you. That moment was so bittersweet. I know just how much he appreciates me and I knew that my years were limited with how much longer he would believe. That’s why I make these events so big. I just want them to have a memorable childhood with lasting memories. Then when they grow up, I’d love them to do the same for their kids.
Without further ado, I give you the elf on the shelf breakfast. I hope you enjoy looking through the setup as much as I enjoyed creating it.
