Dressing up your Christmas tablescape for the holidays doesn’t have to be time consuming and can be achieved in just a few simple steps.
First, I look through the decor I already have and incorporate some old pieces with new. For instance, I had pine garland and I use eucalyptus in my every day decor. I also had a bronze bell garland that I used for my tree in the past and decided to intertwine it through my garland. I introduced a couple new pieces: green placemats and black plates. I had gold silverware for the place setting as well.
Three primary focuses of my table are always:
- Table greens: I can take my garland from Christmas all the way through the winter. I really love how versatile it is.
- Placemats or chargers: They can add a pop of color or just set the tone for the entire table. I will use a table runner with chargers or no table runner if I am using placemats.
- Plates: My theme for this season was gold, green and black. I found these black plates and they just went perfectly with my table. They really brought my entire concept to life. The black just added more sophistication to the table and gave it the classic feel I was going for.
To dress the table up a little more, you can choose to add green linen napkins. I would also love to have water goblets or water glasses with a gold trim.
On Christmas Eve or Christmas Day you can customize menu cards to lay on top of the napkins. Another customizable option would be place setting cards with families names on them. My kids love to help family to the table and show them their names.
I hope my Home for the Holidays Christmas Tablescape was helpful and you have fun with creating your table as well.
