Ever since I was a little girl, my grandmother made me her famous oatmeal pancakes. They were amazing the day she brought them over and equally amazing the next day when we popped them into the toaster. Isn’t it amazing how a simple dish can bring you right back to your childhood? Growing up, I was that girl that could be found cooking or baking in the kitchen or knitting. I definitely was an “old soul”. I loved spending time with my family more then anything else.
When I was about fifteen I started making the recipe for my mom, dad and then boyfriend (now husband). I actually started a blog called “The Blonde Chef” where one of my features was the oatmeal pancake recipe. The Oatmeal Pancakes are full of flavor with buttermilk, oats and vanilla. They are perfectly crisp when cooked on a griddle.
Today, I make the pancakes for my own family. My grandmother still makes the pancakes for us as well. This past summer, we went to Cape Cod and she sent us off on our road trip with Oatmeal pancakes and fresh breakfast sausage.
My kids I wanted to share how we make the oatmeal pancakes for Valentine’s Day. We eat oatmeal pancakes all the time, but make them extra special for Valentine’s Day.
I hope you enjoy The Best Heart Shaped Oatmeal Pancakes for Valentine’s Day and they warm your heart as much as they have warmed mine over the years.
