I used to take down my Christmas decor and feel like I had been robbed. My home looked barre not that all of the twinkling lights, Christmas tree and magic had been put away. On the other hand, it feels good to declutter and have a fresh slate for the new year. But have no fear! We no longer have to have the post-Christmas blues! There are so many transitional decor pieces that will dress up your home.
I want to show you how the house DOESN’T HAVE TO FEEL BARRE post Christmas decor. With just a few neutral pieces, you can completely transform the look of your mantle and make an easy transition from season to season.
A simple tip to remember when styling your winter mantel is to layer items (a few books with a plant) and to stagger items of different heights and widths. This creates depth and is more appealing to the eye. Remember to also make one item more dominant (the round mirror). If your mantel is on the smaller side, lean it behind the other items.
You can add vase and pair it with some long green stems (eucalyptus or boxwood) will do. The stems were my only color on the mantel as I wanted to keep the rest of the decor neutral and rustic for the winter season.
After you arranged your mantel, don’t forget to step back and look at the entire display. You may see things differently from the perspective and it will give you a chance to rearrange if needed. I hope this helped you style your mantel from Christmas to Winter.
