I am doing my part during this time. I am only going out for the necessities and we are distancing ourselves from everyone. As a family, we are trying to make the best out of all this. As a mom, I am talking with my kids, but only sharing what they need to know to keep things as normal as possible. My family and I are giving back to my community by shopping local.
I will have a blog post dedicated primarily to COVID-19 and how we are adapting, but for now, I wanted to share with you all some bright and cheerful inspiration for Easter. With the help of local shops and Etsy shops, I have complied the best kids Easter baskets.
When it comes to Easter Baskets for kids, I stay away from ALL candy filled baskets. My kids love chocolate and candy and they are only young for so long, but I like to spoil them with practical gifts. My kids also get extremely hyper on sugar. Even when I do give them candy, it is a couple pieces at a time and the rest stored for the following day.
I’ve compiled together a list of my favorite small shops on Etsy and some local shops as well. We are all in this together and I wanted to share the shops that need us the most.
Not only do I like to think practical for Easter gifts, but for the baskets as well. If you don’t have a basket, you can use tote bags and fill their goodies inside. You can visit my shop Living with Amanda and I can help you personalized your canvas tote bags for Easter. My kids love bags with their names on them. They use them for snacks when we go out, for their library books or for their clothes when they go to grandmas house (even thought my mom always has everything they need). They are also great for Easter Egg Hunts!
We love accessories! Mini Swag Textiles has the cutest bow ties and suspenders. The quality is absolutely amazing rom the leather contrast to the metal tones. My son is going to look so handsome and he’s going to be happy that he was given accessories as well as his sisters. The girls love bows and headbands. AniBabee has the most adorable bunny headbands. She also has selections with the bunny tails right on the headband, come on! How stinking adorable!
Another great addition to your child’s Easter basket or Easter place setting is Llynn Lettering Co personalized bunny tags. Each tag is personalized with calligraphy and laser engraved on birch wood. All calligraphy is written in lowercase unless specifically stated. Tags include your choice of twine color to secure the tag to your Easter basket. You can also take it up a notch and have a fun craft at home. I chose to have the kids paint their bunnies. It was a lot of fun and let them be creative. The tags can also be used to identify your child’s snack basket or toiletry items.
A practical gift in my kids baskets this year are boots and shoes. Kids are constantly growing and they always need shoes. My girls love shoes and my son loves boots; ever since the Peppa Pig days, he loves muddy puddles. We love Hunter Boots as they are durable and last. Personally, I have had mine for 5 years and they are in perfect condition. They are available in many color options for first boots and for toddlers. Here they are in blue and pink. We also love our Freshly Picked Moccs. They were both my daughters first pair of shoes. With the Spring and Summer months ahead, I wanted them to have adorable shoes to match their new outfits. We love Freshly Picked.
I also put items that spark their creativity like handmade crayons, blocks and play dough. The Crayon Lady’s bunny and carrot crayons are adorable and serve two purposes: fun all year and cute for Easter. They are individually wrapped and make great party favors as well as Easter Basket stuffers.
I love sensory play and Lemon Squeeze hits it out of the park with her handmade play dough kits. My go-to is play dough and the kids never get bored with it. Sensory kits are a great tool to help hand eye coordination, fine motor skills and much more. There are endless ways kids can get creative with these! They are ideal for taking along with you wherever you may need a quiet activity or to occupy your kiddo in a creative way. Perfect Springtime Activity for multiple kids! These fun, interactive sensory kits provide great entertainment for kids. The shop offer small and large kits as well as individual egg cartons of dough.
For sweet treats, I included cookies from my favorite bakery, Cheshire Baking Company. Kristin is incredibly creative and a master at cookies. The presentation of her cookies are adorable: wrapping then in a box or on a cute piece of paper with a message. She also sells DIY kids where the kids can paint their cookies. A palette with three colors and a brush is also included. I also added a Lindt chocolate bunny. Easter is just not complete without one.
Laurel Tree and Me offers Tumblers for kids. My kids know what their cups look like and they like to have items that they call their own. This shop offers tumblers to personalize with your child’s name. You can also choose different colored bunnies on the tumbler based upon the colors your child likes. They come with a straw and lid and are very durable.
Let’s make bath time fun with The Roxy Grace Company bunny bath bombs. My kids absolutely love them. I’ve never had a hard time getting my kids to bathe, it’s getting them out of the tub that I have a hard time with. Not only does Andrea make ALL THE SHAPES but she can also spell out your child’s name using bath bombs. This can be used for bath time fun and as a tool to get tour child to learn how to spell their name.
Tubby Todd also has a great selection of bath products. I absolutely love their selection hair and bath and how wonderful they smell. For the girls, they also offer detangler for their hair, which is a must. All of their hair care products are amazing and great for our baby to toddlers.
Ever since I had my first baby, five years ago, I make a special point to have custom bibs during their “first year”. I make this special attempt for my third baby as well. The Pillow Geek makes the most adorable bibs and she was kind enough to not only personalize my daughter’s first Easter Bib with her name, but also “first Easter”. These bibs are VERY SOFT. Her bibs are made from an ultra-smooth micro-mink polyester front and cotton terry loops on the back.
My kids love to match, on another level at times. It can get a little exhausting when tantrums are being had because they need to color coordinate. Luckily only two out of my three children can verbalize their opinions right now. Another cute addition to their baskets was the Hunny Bunny onesie from Beck and Palm. All kiddos need matching shirts, even adults!
Do your kids love pajamas? Mine do, but they all want to match at all times and my pajama of choice is GoUmiKids. Whether that’s better snaps for easy diaper changes or patterns and prints to stretch baby’s brain, everything about Goumi products is intentionally functional, solving a real need. Through the right blend of material and construction techniques that leave the smallest footprint, their products are organic, eco friendly, and sustainable. Right now, they have the most adorable Spring colors that tie in perfectly with any easter basket (or bag).
I had so much fun putting this together for the kids. Please let me know what items you will be putting in your child’s baskets in the comments below. Thank you for shopping small, it does make a huge difference.
xoxo,
Amanda
