In this article I will share 5 Easy Ways to Refresh Your Front Door for Spring along with some Budget Friendly Inspiration. I will show you thrifty ways to renew your decor and bring them back to life. Grab your paint brush and a cup of coffee and I hope you learn a few things today.
Our home is very visible in our community. It is very important to my family and I to have curb appeal. While most of our family members enter through our side door, I love to style our front door. While we may have a ton of trees in our front yard, our door is still noticeable and I feel it is the first thing people see when they look at your home. Who doesn’t love. Freshly manicured lawn, new mulch and beautiful flowers? We all do, but it’s the front door that is the true testament to a home.
So, here are 5 easy tips to transform your Spring Entry:
New paint
A great way to transform a look and remain cost effective is to add a fresh coat of paint. For this season, I didn’t change the color of our exterior door, but I did paint our planter boxes. The boxes were white and I already had a can of black paint from painting two of our interior doors. Therefore, the project didn’t cost me anything, but gave an entirely new look. The black also shows less dirt, which is great.
New house number and mailbox
I actually own a silhouette, so I made our house number using vinyl. House numbers are available at your local hardware store. Target also has so many new options right now that add character to your door. Another little secret is adding a letter box. I actually have a mailbox, but I love how it pops next to the door.
Update your wreath and add a ribbon
For every season, I have a wreath. Not until a month ago did I still have my pine wreath up, oops. My UPS driver actually made a point to tell me about it. Anyway, I added a spring wreath to the door and added a silk ribbon. I purchased a 2” ribbon and tied it in a bow and let it hang to the length of the wreath.
Add Greens or Colorful Flowers:
I added faux boxwood topiaries to my newly painted planter boxes. They are just really easy to maintain. When the weather gets nicer, I may add some flowers to our front beds. For now, the weather is still cold and the boxwood adds just enough green to welcome spring.
Add a doormat
I found the cutest doormat this year and it was on sale for only $7.99. I don’t like spending a lot on them because they are kept outside and usually only last a season. Sometimes I like a add a larger rug underneath the doormat to make it pop. It’s a personal preference and definitely not necessary. Again, these rugs don’t last long and we don’t have an overhang, so they will get black and mold from the rain. Something to consider when you decide what type of mat you buy.
Thank you for stopping my my front entry today. I hope you learned a few things to take back with you. I’d love to hear from you, so please don’t forget to leave me a comment.
