The holidays can be an overwhelming time and your bedroom may be the last place you even think about decorating. For me, it is an essential place to decorate as my bedroom is the place where I being and end my day. I want to wake up and end on a good note and it makes me happy to see the room dressed up for the holidays.
My theme for this Christmas was green with neutral undertones. I transitioned this into our bedroom as well for a cozy Christmas vibe. I honestly made just a few tweaks to transition the bedroom and it was all very cost effective. I only spent $20 to update the bedroom. You can transition the look of your room by simply adding new pillow covers and a coordinating throw blanket. I added Christmas green pillow covers, a faux Christmas tree (which I already owned) and a Christmas wreath over my bed (this I borrowed from my front door).
Trust me, I shop my house all the time and look through pieces I already have to see if they can be used in a new way. In prior seasons, i never thought to use a wreath inside the home, but I cannot believe how much it transformed the look of my room and brought all of the decor together.
The pillows are a beautiful evergreen with a velvet material. I would recommend buying three for a King bed, two for a Queen/ Full bed and one for a Twin bed.
Long gone are the days that you need to make the night stands uniform. I added one faux Christmas tree on my nightstand and white houses with my linen books. This added the perfect balance of green. I left my other nightstand as is with gold tones and linen books.
For the bedding, I kept my flax linen duvet cover, but could definitely interchange it with my white silk duvet. You can also add in a striped throw to add more cozy to your Christmas bedroom. I stuck with my belgian linen sheets, which complemented the neutral Christmas tones.
I loved how the pops of green stood out in the room. It is great to have transitional pieces from season to season. Not only is this cost effective, but it is functional for a busy lifestyle. To recap, pick your color for the season and the decor you will be interchanging. Pillow covers are wonderful as they are interchangeable and can store easily without taking up any room.
