My kids have gone through so many changes this year. They have shown it hard to put their emotions into words because this lifestyle is very new to them. With that said, I wanted to treat them to something amazing because they were so deserving of it. I threw them an ice cream social party. It was full of all the things sweet and sugar for these kiddos.
I have to say, my kids were very patient as I put all the finishing details on the party. They could not wait to dive in and taste all the delicious treats. There was definitely some sticky goodness as well— cotton candy and the kids all time favorite, slime! The cotton candy, by Sweet Please Cotton Candy was in an ice cream cone and colored pastel to the theme. The slime by The Sublime Slimez had krispies on the bottom of the container topped with more white slime and sprinkles. Absolute perfection! My kids had so much fun with them.
The kids helped me make the cake. It was funfetti flavored with a sweet buttercream frosting. I used candy melts to make the drippings off the side of the cake. I topped the cake with a waffle cone and painted it gold with edible luster dust. Watching the kids eyes with the cake was worth all of my efforts. The ice cream cookies were by Sugar by Michelle and they were equally as yummy as they were beautiful.
We just had to dress up as well. My youngest wore a gorgeous pastel tutu and a customized “one is sweet” onesie by Rich at Heart Baby. The oldest kids wore adorable swimsuits because it was super hot that day.
The table was decorated in a sweet tassel banner by Tassel Love, confetti and a hand cut ice cream truck banner by Beauty Bloom Design. The backdrop for the occasion was an ice cream shoppe blackboard.
To add a little more magic to their day, I created a sitting table for them outside. Each place setting had a sprinkles bath bomb by Shop Cait and Co and a cotton candy cone. The kids had sweet little pedicures with the bath bombs to end their day. Cascading over the top of their sweet sugar plum heads was a balloon arch. I thought it added the perfect touch and was the cherry on top for the day.
Overall, every detail and all the hard work was for my kids. I just wanted to give them something to smile about and show them how special they are and how proud I am of them. We really have been enjoying time together as a family. It definitely is hard being home every day and the kids get on each other’s nerves, but they love each other dearly. It melts my heart when they give each other a kiss or hug and tell one another I love you. I really am incredibly blessed and lucky.
