I find that every single one of my children’s birthdays, despite the milestone, is bittersweet for me. I love seeing them grow into the amazing little people they are, but I just wish I could freeze time and keep them tiny for a little bit longer.
I started planning my daughters birthday three months ahead of time. I had the deposit on the location and all the decor picked out. Two months prior to her party, we were given at home orders, which not only changed her party but life as we knew it. I made it my top priority to make my daughter feel nothing but special and loved just as my son has felt for his birthdays and she has felt at her prior two birthdays and I did just that.
Giuliana is the most loving little girl and has the biggest personality. She is outspoken, but is also very emotional. She has so much energy and keeps me on my toes every second of the day. She is my wild child and thus the young, wild and three birthday party I threw for her.
The attire:
I dressed us all in animal print and her attire didn’t disappoint with an animal print cloth tutu from Something from Sadie. The quality was amazing and Sadie was able to tie in all of the decor colors into her outfit.
The girls wore shoes from Freshly picked. The birthday girl had her tutu and shirt custom made from Etsy. The girls hair bows were also from Etsy.
Party Favors
My daughter absolutely loves chap stick, nail polish, coloring and bath bombs. My daughter chose bath bombs from Bath n Bailey Works for her favors and they did not disappoint. Not only were they beautiful, but they smelt absolutely amazing. She could not wait to use them and she continues to use one every night.
Decorations
I made a ballon garland as the backdrop for her food and dessert table. I also hung a “one” themed banner and a burlap banner made by the cutest Etsy shop, The Pickled Peanut. The owner asked me to send her the colors of her party decor and she matched the banner perfectly to the theme.
I also came across the cutest Party Boutique called Ellie and Piper. I found a Balloon Bouquet that went perfectly with the theme. I chose to put it in the living room next to the kids table. I also found her number sparklers, alligator birthday card, Pink Glitter Dipped Candles and her Rainbow Watercolor Paint Pods. The paint pods were used for one of her birthday activities.
I made sure to setup a table just for the kids as I would have for her typical birthday party. Her brother sat with her at the “kids table” and they were kept company by their favorite stuffed animals. The table setting had cute bear plates, lead napkins and the bath bomb party favors.
Alongside the table, I had a tee pee tent and new sleeping bags. The sleeping bags were so soft and cozy and matched the theme perfectly. The kids enjoyed snuggling in the tent later in the day when they were partied out.
Food
Watermelon slices cut into triangles to make them look like tents.
Ham and cheese sleeping bags.
S’mores on a stick: marshmallows dipped in chocolate and sprinkled with graham crackers
Oreo cake pops
S’mores Cupcakes
Pretzel sticks
Cookies
Chocolate Milk
Cake
I made her cake. My first business was a cake shop that I owned during grad school. I only bake cakes for family now as it is super hard with kids. I had an entirely different vision for her cake but had to scale it down tremendously. I didn’t have any animal cookie cutters so I actually printed pictures of animals off the computer, cut them out, laid them on fondant and used an exacto knife to cut them out. I then painted them with gold luster dust.
We invited family and friends to park on the side road and sing happy birthday to her. It meant so much to me that people came out to watch her from the deck. Even though they couldn’t be with us inside, they took the time and knew how important it was to me. I am so grateful and appreciative.
Attractions
My daughters favorite food is ice cream and popsicles. A local delivery company, ice cream emergency made an appearance at her birthday. They stopped in our driveway for pictures. We thought it would be the perfect photo opportunity of her with her “3” balloon. The ice cream was amazing and they dropped off all the toppings: whipped cream, cherries, peanut m&ms, sprinkles and Oreos. The ice cream flavors didn’t disappoint either. They were all oh so good.
We also had the bounce house set up for the kids. My daughter loves to bounce and this keeps her off my sofa! This definitely makes the kids tired and I pull it out whenever the weather is nice.
My daughter is also super creative and artistic. She loves coloring, playing with paint and play dough. We are always playing with our sensory kits. I was so excited when Katie from KC Lemon Squeezy told me that she had an Animal Sensory Kit that went perfectly with her theme. It was a huge hit and kept the kiddos happy and busy.
Birthday Gift
Without a doubt, we knew that we were gifting her a car I did my thorough research and found this white beauty. We have had our fair share of cars. Between my husband and I and my parents, my son has had 8 vehicles and a lot of them have not held up longer then a year. Her car had rave reviews and it is tiny and fits her perfectly. Initially her brother drove her around in it while she ate her ice cream but eventually she wanted a turn and loved it. She is still learning the rules of the road and occasionally bumps into the gate outside, but brother always comes to her rescue.
The day was an absolute success and she told me how much she loved her party. All I wanted was to see a smile on her face and I got just that. She will only remember this day feeling loved, pampered and special. She is my baby girl and deserves the world.
